The benefit of it is you don't have to pay a scourging price as you would if you purchase from a third party vendor for sought-after games that would've sold out before it gets to your membership level or to general audience. The ticket exchange program is official and the cost for a ticket is 1/19th of the price a season ticket holder has paid (£700-£1,900) for the seating tier that they have.



UPDATE 01/10/2018: It appears on THFC website that the ticket exchange system where you can buy tickets from season ticket holders at 1/19 of their cost is now open for the North London Derby. It probably is the only way you can get tickets for a reasonable price at the moment. Info here.
